The Menopause Disruptor Podcast
Welcome to The Menopause Disruptor Podcast, formerly, All Things Menopausal! I’m your host, Mary Lee, a compassionate Menopause Doula and Licensed Menopause Champion in partnership with The Menopause Expert Group.
My mission is to challenge outdated narratives around menopause. Leaning into my own personal encounters with misogyny and a serious lack of reliable, current information surrounding hormone health, I realized there are far too many women being dismissed and outright ignored by healthcare professionals. This has to stop!
Menopause is a natural phase of life that deserves to be embraced, not stigmatized. In each episode, I tackle taboo topics and disrupt the status quo on how we think, act, and treat menopause - peri to post.
Join me in these informative conversations, either alone or with credible guest experts, as I dive into real, raw, and relatable discussions surrounding the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of aging. It’s time to reclaim our voices and advocate for our health with confidence.
Midlife should be the best life, and it will be!

Why Women Don’t Want Sex and What We Can do About it with Courtney Boyer
Have you ever wondered why your sex drive during menopause is low?
Courtney Boyer, an experienced sexuality coach and author with over 17 years in the field, talks about helping women navigate common concerns about sex drive during menopause.
Courtney integrates a holistic approach to her work, including elements of energy healing and chakra alignment, and she offers practical tools for women to reconnect with their sexuality and enhance their relationships.
Her expertise has been recognized by prominent publications, including the Huffington Post.
Key insights:
1. Understanding Low Libido During Menopause: the impact of menopause on women's sex drive, hormonal changes and their effects on arousal and desire.
2. Self-Awareness and Permission for Pleasure: the idea of giving oneself "permission for pleasure," which includes both sexual and everyday pleasures that bring joy and fulfillment.
3. Role of Past Trauma: unresolved trauma, whether big or small, can significantly affect a woman's sexuality. Addressing these traumas can be crucial for healing and developing a healthy sex life.
4. Communication with Partners: effective communication is vital in relationships, especially when dealing with issues of low libido during menopause. Both partners may feel rejected or inadequate, and discussing these feelings openly can help to bridge gaps and bring couples closer.
5. Energy Work and Pleasure Practices: the concept of energy work, especially related to the sacral chakra, can unlock creativity and pleasure. This includes developing practices that connect with and nurture one's body sensually and sexually, leading to better overall well-being.
